Hello, I’m James Richards, the proud Director of JR Mortgage House.
After thousands of mortgages, hundreds of reviews and numerous awards under my previous brand, I felt the time was right for a fresh start — and, quite honestly, I wanted my name in a big, fat sign above the office door!
So, here we are… JR Mortgage House.
Since joining the mortgage industry in 2022, I’ve had the privilege of helping so many people achieve their dream of owning a home. Every client journey is different, and that’s one of the things I love most about what I do.
Now, I’m excited to begin the next chapter of my own journey with JR Mortgage House. More than anything, I hope to make my three amazing children proud of me. Everything I do is for them… including funding their increasingly expensive hobbies and Roblox vouchers!
Working hard throughout the week makes the weekends even more enjoyable, especially when I get to switch off and spend quality time with the family.
My passion for mortgages is just as strong as it was when I first started — if anything, it’s stronger. Building long-term relationships with clients has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me time and time again with their mortgages.
As a mortgage specialist, I help clients ranging from first-time buyers to those with more complex circumstances. My focus is on finding the most appropriate mortgage for each client’s needs, thinking creatively and exploring suitable options. I look forward to continuing to deliver the high standards and personal service my clients value.
Sometimes, you need to think outside the box, be creative and look at a situation from a different angle. That ability to find solutions in circumstances that may initially seem problematic is something I’m incredibly proud to have built my reputation on.
With JR Mortgage House, my goal is simple: to continue delivering the highest standards, exceeding expectations and helping as many people as possible achieve their property and financial goals for the next 30 years and beyond.
Although, judging by how much you all seem to enjoy keeping me busy, I’m not sure you’re going to let me retire before then! 😂
So, until that day comes, feel free to ask me about your next mortgage, invite me for a game of golf, or even buy me a beer.

Hello, I’m Clive Williams, and I’ve been working in the mortgage industry for over 25 years.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping thousands of clients, from all walks of life and from communities right across Wales. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of so many people’s journeys towards owning their own homes.
Earlier in my career, I worked as an in-house mortgage adviser for an estate agency, where I had the privilege of helping countless first-time buyers take that exciting first step onto the property ladder.
Having been in the industry for more than 25 years means I’ve seen just about every side of the mortgage process. I understand how the different parts of a transaction work — from mortgage advisers and estate agents through to solicitors — and, most importantly, how they all need to work together to keep things moving.
My long-standing relationships with estate agents and solicitors across Neath, Port Talbot and the surrounding areas have been built over many years. These professional relationships, combined with my experience and local knowledge, allow me to guide clients through the process, explain what can sometimes feel complicated, and help make the whole journey as smooth and straightforward as possible.
For me, it’s not just about arranging a mortgage. It’s about getting to know my clients, understanding what they’re trying to achieve and being there to support them from start to finish.
Outside of work, you’ll often find me at the Cardiff City Stadium, where I’m a proud season ticket holder. When I’m not watching the Bluebirds, I enjoy travelling with my wife and, of course, being chief entertainer for my grandchildren!
After 25+ years in the industry, I still get a huge amount of satisfaction from helping people achieve their property goals.

Hello, I’m Nia. Most of our clients will already know me as one of the main points of contact at JR Mortgage House — whether that’s providing mortgage updates, answering the main phone line or helping to keep everything moving behind the scenes.
I’ve been part of the team for nearly five years now, and I genuinely love helping our clients just as much as James and Clive do.
Having recently secured my own first home, I know exactly how exciting it feels to receive that mortgage offer and finally get the keys. That experience has made me even more passionate about helping other first-time buyers and home movers through their own journeys — from the initial application right through to that all-important completion day.
Over the years, working so closely with both James and Clive has given me a strong understanding of the mortgage industry and the processes involved. I’m now confident dealing directly with lenders, chasing updates, understanding case requirements and making sure everything needed is in place to keep applications moving.
I’m particularly proud of how quickly we can sometimes get cases through to offer, and I love being able to keep clients updated along the way so they always know what’s happening.
One of the things that means the most to me is seeing clients mention me personally in their reviews. Knowing that I’ve made their mortgage journey a little easier — or simply been there when they needed an update or someone to speak to — is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my partner and family. We’re all very close, and our weekends are usually about spending time together, relaxing and, quite often, baking something!
Much to James and Clive’s delight, both of them have a serious sweet tooth, so they occasionally get to benefit from my baking too! 😂
